History You Can Touch
The unique collections at the Holocaust Museum of Corfu are based on over 10 years of continuous research. They consist of personal belongings, lost items, as well as stuff left behind during or after deportations and pogroms.
Collections hold personal value because they’re strongly related to victims of the Holocaust. Each item has a story that people forgot about. We’re certain that there are countless other stories out there and we work hard to get them out. Our collections grow all the time, so there’s always something new and interesting to learn about.

Discover The Holocaust At A Personal Level
Personal stories about the Holocaust in Corfu are limited, especially since the last Holocaust survivor on the island passed away in 2018. However, our collections cover different stories from other parts of Greece as well.
From Auschwitz and Treblinka to Majdanek and Buchenwald, every concentration camp was a mix of different stories from the victims. There were more than 1,000 concentration camps and subcamps operated by the Nazi regime during World War 2.
Different categories of people from multiple countries were killed during the Holocaust. These collections bring back memories, personal belongings and related items from the countries with the highest numbers of murders.
While Jews represented the main category of victims in the Holocaust, other categories of people were also considered undesirable. These collections follow their stories, as well as items left behind after their persecution and death.
